It's an odd happening blogging is. either way, here are a couple that i checked out along with the link that listed them all. and no, mine did not make the list. by the way, this pic has nothing to do with blogs, blogging or anything other than it is a Jimi Hendrix lego man. how sweet is that! okay. days are getting busy but i feel slow so you will hear from me again. am i rambling? bye

thats all i got for now

okay, real quick, more ideas...

those people faces would be uber cool, but i hate no idea what these are running for price. also i would have to be careful that i cut them in the right direction to get them correct. i didn't think of that until i was writing this. hmmm, nevermind on that one. still slick looking.

it's time for your debriefing.

Hello all. great to see you again. you've been missed. so here is what is shakin in E-town. ummmm..... well.......huh. the wrist is still feeling quite good. Cortizone. big fan. good times. Saturday evening E and I went out with Craig and Stacy to Hoolihan's. i bet thats not how you spell it, but i don't seem to care enough to go check, so that is how you are getting it. Either way it was good to get out for a meal, without kids. Good ole' ma and pa watched to kids and then we went back and picked up Marley and Layla got to stay the night. Sunday i then had band practice at 1. or so i thought. Brian, the bass player and mother figure of the band, told me that he talked to Shawn Monday and Wednesday and that he was bringing out 2 singers. 1 guy, 1 girl. i arrived at 1. Brian was there. I did get to play the snare that Robbie built me. beautiful! totally different sound than "Penny". Has a lot more crack to the sound. Anyways they never showed up. i think this has been a long time coming for some reason. i also can't quite get myself to really care. i love playing in bands. Thick Toez rule!!!!!!!!! i just hate all the crap that comes along with it. to find a band that has responsible people in it is always impressive. the nice thing is that Brian doesn't care that i don't care. i let him do all the leg work and show up to practice. He put in an ad in the newspaper for a guitar player and we have had 3 calls from guys that are all singers/guitarists so next Sunday we will audition the first one. i wanted 2 of them to come out together but i guess one guy works on Sunday and i don't want to have to practice on Saturdays. maybe this third guy can come too. who knows. so when i left practice on Sunday i brought home some of my Pearl kit so i can start to refinish it. the Blue velvet is falling off is some places. i stripped down to the wood, but really havn't thought about what to finish them in yet. i will be brain storming for a while. i have lots of old countertop here that i thought could look cool, but we'll have to see. Also wondered how thin Jeff could get Stainless Steel that i could wrap around the shells, but i really dont' want to spend money on this, so we will see what we can come up with. spray paint looks good, but can get pricey after while. With the countertop material like the one shown here, i can get them in a gloss finish from one of my suppliers here at Kropf. We'll see. the wood is in good condition but must be covered. it looks like crappola. i think that is all i have right now. i might post some other laminate options. tell me what you think. I the idea of doing newspaper clippings sound retarded? not sure. i think it might be. Holla!

Cortizone shots.....goooooood!

well i am pleased to say that i got a cortizone shot in the right wrist. i went to OSMC, orthpedic med's and waited in the main wating room for one hour. then they moved me into my own room, answered questions that i had answered only an hour ago, and waited another 40 minutes. NOT TO SHABBY!!!!!! finally the doctor came in to my room. he did appologize, not that i was that friendly about it. either way, he looked at my tendonitis. squeezed it, which i really wanted to bust his jaw. I JUST TOLD HIM IT HURT!?!?! anywhoo, he mentioned surgury as a last hope, but he suggested the shot, and iceing it. he did have much good to say about the splint that it was in. so he leaves and a nurse comes in to prep me. ahe asks where he marked me....i tell her that he did nothing of the sort. she disagrees and tells me he did. we argue, he walks in and says, "oh, i forgot to mark him." TA DA!!!!!! so they prep me and he comes at me with this 12 foot needle. he says, "don't woory, i won't use the whole thing" i'm thinking that he is taking it to the next room and using it on the next patient. no reason to toss perfectly good Cortizone?! so she sprays me with some cold spray to numb the area and i see him moving in for the kill. i look away......still........not looking........seriously...........OKAY I'M LOOKING! he's whirlling around in there with that needle like he knitting me socks! next thing i know, he used all the Cortizone, and i have this huge mound of goo under my skin, right were he shot me. he removed the large Arby's straw out of my arm and mooshes gallon of goo around my wrist. he says okay, your done!........okay.

that's it???? so do i need to keep using the splint?

ummm.... good question, it doesn't matter. i don't really like them. if you want you can.

Okay. do i need to just keep taking ibeprofin?

ummm.....good question! ummm, no, i'll give you something different. if this doens't make your stomach upset, then keep taking "this"

and "this" is?

the main ingredent in Aleve. it's strong.

okay, do i need to come back?

ummm.....if you want you can. yes.....well, no just call and let me know either way. if it worked or not.

Needless to say, it feels much better today. i did ice it last night and i think that this is the best that it has felt since May 12th. Ole' Dr. Hixs did ask (and he asked not to be offended) if it could have been something that happened at the bachelor party. ummm....NO i woke up at home, before going to that bachelor party, and it hurt. but thanks for prepping everyone for a great bachelor party story. speaking of bachelors....

My good friend Trevor Kropf is now a engaged man. Trevor and i went to Georgia last year and to Tennessee the year before that to see the University of Georgia Bulldogs play great football. He got engaged to Angie on Saturday. the date has already been set for Aug 2, 2008.

Also i want to say that i buzzed Rob's head on Saturday. fuuuuuun. he looked best with the mohawk! i bet that you can link to his blog to see pics.

Today is June 12th, 2007. here is what is happening

greetings and hello. my name is Brent, and i have a problem. i just don't want to be working right now. don't get me wrong, i like my job, it's just that i really would rather be at home today. i know that yesterday was rough on Elizabeth who is having a birthday tomorrow and party tonight. Elizabeth did just call me and tell me that the results from the EKG that they did on Marley last Friday came back. our pediatric doctor is not in this week but they said that there was a post it note on the folder saying that everything looked normal. we will probably get a more in depth answer next week when Dr. Reed comes back in, but for now, we know that she is doing just fine. for those who were not informed of the procedure, it was checking on a heart murmur. it sounds like it is all going to be fine. i would like to thank Angie, Trevor's girlie, for the handy wipe seen above that came from Hooters. this is one of my favorite sayings when the time is right. Obviously, i change the number all the time. i am normally in the 70's. so Jeff ask's me yesterday, "what is happening on the band front?" i reply that i havn't really heard anything positive or much at all really. then last night i get a call, well 3 calls, with one voicemail from Brian saying that we have a singer. Male. that is all that i know. they want to practice on Monday. i have to call Brian today to get more info. i presume it is the guy they have called "Mike". we have talked of this "Mike" before but i know nothing of him. i look forward to getting back to playing. Especially now that i have Rob's snare to show off. that is one sweet machine. It will have to compete for basket time with Penny more than anything but having 2 kits, they will see themselves fitted in a kit no doubt. Penny will probably be fited to the Gretch and Bloodshot to the Pearl. i know many of you will be very conserned in this matter. i will keep you all informed. stay calm.

And i shall name her....

Right now, my best name is "Bloodshot" which is probably how i looked when i opened it. Also it's a play on rimshot. If you have a better name, post it. See ya.

Perhaps, one of the biggest shocks of my life!!!!!!

Hello to all. I have been blessed. Okay, first off, the baby is doing great. When she's happy, she's asleep, when she's mad, you want to be asleep. an this too shall pass. So this weekend was the rehersal dinner, 5k run and the big weddin' for Rob and Stacy. Okay. rehersal... everything went well. not much to report really. We went to BW3's and discovered that they had not done anything for our dinner for 30 people so Doug got some people, moved so other people and we had our shin dig. So Rob starts handing out gifts. I sat with the McDowells and Rob sat down by me with his huge bag o'gifts and hands Craig his gift. Very nice little gift card to Lowe's. Rob stands up and goes over to sit on Craig's side of the table. I thought it was a little odd that he didn't hand me mine to open, and Rob says, "well open it!" I am sure i looked really smart and said something to the effect of "what?" He said that is your gift and i think i said "The whole thing?" as you can tell, i was not savy to what was going on at ALL!!!! So i start pulling tissue paper out of a Bed Bath and Beyond shopping bag and of course, shoving it down my shirt (because i always like to impress others with my good ideas. THEN I HIT SOMETHING. WHAT...WAIT....THAT WAS A TUBE LUGS. i looked at Rob so fast i hurt my neck. i looked a round and noticed that EVERYONE was watching me. i knew then that i was the ONLY person under the sun that didn't know what was going on. My first thought was that it was Doug's Acryilc Demo and i wouldn't have been able to keep it. It is to great of a drum in my power. As i keep pulling trash bags and eventually a T shirt, i see the most amazing snare drum that i have EVER laid eye's on. This was a Red 8ply keller Maple 7x13. Now let me me detailed. 8 ply Maple, not 10 to me, it was have a little more tone and not as tight the shell will resonate a lot more. 7x13 is what Doug's snare is that i love and after i had started buildign Penny, i was down a bit that i didn't do that size. Rob put the clear Nickleworks stainer on this and that is an amazing strainer. when i built Penny, i used the Dunnet and really didn't know if i would like it so i left the holes to mount it at the same distance that the Nickleworks fit in at so i knew if i hated it, i could switch with out having to redrill. Now, when i say that it is Red, that is a boring desription of Red. This is a color Rob and had found a i LOVED. it is border line Candy Apple but has the slickest Silver Metallic tribal going around it. Rob's finishes are so much better than what i do. he has patience. Now i don't think that i build a bad snare, but to look at his and the detail work that he put in it compared to mine, you can't even compare them. this has the smoothest finish on it, i can't tell you what to compare it to other than glass. This thing is CRAZY looking. It has the heads that i like, it has a amazing set of wires on it, that i honestly, NEVER would have picked out. This was such a shock to me. I do NOT go speechless very often, but this one had me HARD. After i come to, i have been informed that Rob has had a blog going for sometime about this. i thought it was really odd that he never had one. i razzed him for ages about doing one. Stacy started one and to find out that everyone knew but me....holy crap. he got me good. i have the intention to take the bottom head off and have Rob sign and number the inside. I have intended on doing that with mine when i get to it and need to take the bottom head off. i hate to say that is the end of my snare story but i can't wait to see the pictures from that, because i bet i look like a real idiot. i can't thank him enough. i hope that he remembers that i have Fathers Day comeing up. i can't wait to see what he made for me then. The run and the wedding were the next day. i ran the 5k, my first organized run with a chip time of 34:52. the guy that won it did it in 15:15. it was fun. i finished. i walked twice. i look forward to doing more and bettering my time. i then picked up the BMW and was very impressed with that. the 650i is an impressinve machine. took the snare over to Doug's when i went to get Rob there and got to play and hear it be played and am very very pleased and i hope that Rob is. This is a snare that will never leave my ownership. Rob has told me that he already has ideas to build more and i can't wait to hear about them. Rob has been building a guitar for i would guess 4 years now and there is something about doing a snare that it is quicker and just as fulfilling. i hope that we colaborate on some. the Wedding was great, but i am a little dissapointed in Etter for forgetting the beer. I know she feels very guilty about it. You'll get them next time Etter. Keep your head up. Any whoo, the wedding was great. rain stopped 45 min before kickoff and it was a very nice wedding. I did give my best man's speech and i got great reviews so i hope that i did my job well. Now...off to find Rob's blog so i can read it and add it to my favorites. Robby, thanks again!
